Client Brief
Cognito Tuition engaged DY Constructions to deliver a complete fitout for their new high school tutoring centre in Chatswood. The client required assistance with both design and approvals, including space planning to maximise functionality and flow. DY worked closely with the client to manage council approvals and create an engaging learning environment. The vision was to develop a modern, well-organised space that inspires creativity and supports focused education.
Challenges
A key challenge was the client’s request for acoustic treatment using V-Lam acoustic glass and curved glazed panels, which required custom manufacturing and transport from Melbourne. This added coordination complexity and delivery lead time. The installation of external signage also required after-hours work due to its position and street-facing exposure. Throughout the project, a high level of attention to detail was necessary to achieve the client’s design vision and meet the acoustic and visual standards expected in an educational setting.
The Solution
DY Constructions conducted after-hours installation to safely complete the external signage works with minimal disruption. The team collaborated closely with the client to bring their vision to life through strategic layout planning and careful spatial design. Installation of the custom curved acoustic glass required advanced scheduling and coordination with Melbourne-based suppliers. DY also managed council applications to ensure all building works were compliant and safely executed, supporting a smooth and efficient project delivery.

The completed fitout included new classrooms, acoustic partitions, custom joinery, upgraded flooring, lighting, and AV provisions—all tailored to support a productive and inspiring learning environment.
