Client Brief
A. Menarini Australia engaged DY Constructions to refurbish their existing corporate office in Chatswood following a post-COVID shift in workplace expectations. The client aimed to upgrade multiple outdated meeting rooms with new audiovisual systems and improve sound performance through enhanced acoustics and soundproofing. They also required additional workstations and a refreshed interior that reflected their updated branding guidelines. The fitout was to align with the company’s evolving corporate identity while improving functionality, connectivity, and user experience across the office.
Challenges
The project needed to be delivered within a tight timeframe, as the client temporarily closed their office to accommodate the refurbishment. This required the DY team to compress the construction program and coordinate all trades efficiently to avoid prolonged downtime. The existing audiovisual infrastructure was outdated and lacked the capabilities required for modern collaboration. Additionally, the meeting rooms suffered from poor acoustic performance, creating challenges in delivering effective sound insulation and noise control within the existing layout.
The Solution
DY Constructions developed an accelerated program of works to ensure the refurbishment was completed within the client’s limited shutdown period. The team collaborated closely with the client’s IT manager to install a new, modern audiovisual system across all meeting rooms. To address acoustic issues, DY specified and installed above-ceiling acoustic baffles and implemented targeted upgrades to improve soundproofing and overall meeting room performance. The efficient coordination of trades and clear communication ensured all works were delivered to standard within the condensed timeline.
The Result
DY Constructions successfully delivered a refreshed and functional office environment aligned with A. Menarini Australia’s updated brand and workplace requirements. The refurbished meeting rooms featured upgraded audiovisual systems and significantly improved acoustic performance, while new workstations and finishes enhanced the overall layout and amenity. The project was completed within the tight timeframe and in full compliance with building management requirements. An Occupation Certificate (OC) was issued, and the building manager was satisfied with the outcome. The client was pleased with the result and subsequently re-engaged DY for additional works at a later date.
