Client Brief

Brent Street engaged DY Constructions Australia to transform underutilised space within their Moore Park facility into a functional and purpose-built performing arts environment.

The client sought to expand their operations by adding new dance studios, office spaces, and breakout areas. DY worked closely with Brent Street through the design phase to ensure the layout, finishes, and functionality aligned with the needs of a high-performing and reputable dance institution.

Challenges

The project was delivered under a tight timeframe, with the client requesting completion during the school holidays and Christmas period to ensure the studios were operational before students returned. DY Constructions had to plan meticulously to coordinate a large number of subcontractors and specialist trades. Extensive mechanical, air conditioning, fire, and electrical adjustments were required to suit the reconfigured layout. Additionally, the client introduced numerous design changes and additional works throughout the build, requiring ongoing revisions to plans and quick turnaround on site adjustments.
